Buffalo, New York - Reichert Technologies is proud to announce that the XCEL 255 Slit Lamp has achieved a 100% success rate for in-field performance that has maintained perfection since June of 2010. "Previous success rates for quality and performance typically ranged between 99.7% and 100%, but this recent string of consecutive performance statements have been impressive," said Sandra Brown, Reichert Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager.
The XCEL 255 Slit Lamp is one of an extremely small sampling of products that Reichert manufactures outside of their Buffalo, New York facility. "We have been manufacturing the XCEL 255 through a high-tech facility in Haryana, India since 2010. Their quality system for manufacturing mirrors that of our US ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards for medical devices, as approved by UL Health Sciences," said Brown.
Upon the delivery of the completed slit lamps to their Buffalo headquarters, Reichert's Quality Control team enrolls each XCEL 255 Slit Lamp into a rigorous 85 Point inspection process that ensures 100% precision and performance. "We take great pride in our internal quality system. Many of our products have achieved 510(k) clearance by the FDA and require certain quality control standards to be met. We prefer to exceed those standards," said Tim Levindofske, Reichert President and COO. "The fact that the XCEL 255 Slit Lamp has received such high marks on our Quality Scorecard pays compliment to not only our process, but the dedication of our staff to pursue perfection," Levindofske added.
